Sorry Day 2017

May 26, 2017 marks the 20th anniversary of the handing down of the Bringing Them Home Report. To commemorate this occasion we will be holding two events:

  1. Sorry Day 2017 – this is our regular event at Wellington Square where thousands of people come down, including many school groups, to explore the experiences and impact of ‘Stolen Generations’ government policies on First West Australian people.

Date: May 26th

Location: Wellington Square, East Perth

Time: 10am-2pm

School Registration: Schools can register their attendance by filling out a registartion form and returning via email to admin@recwa.org.au

The event is open to the general public.

2. Archie Roach 20th Anniversary Sorry Day Concert – this is an extra event to mark the 20th anniversary of the handing down of the Bringing Them Home Report. The concert features Archie Roach with support from local Aboriginal performers Gina Williams, Della-Rae Morrison, Candice Lorrae, Beni Bjah and the Madjitil Moorna Choir.
